Oracle Virtualbox Repository Is Ready For Ubuntu 14.10

Oracle has added the Virtualbox package for Ubuntu 14.10 Utopic Unicorn to their main repository making it simple to keep updated.


In this short post I will show you how to install Virtualbox via your systems Terminal.

Oracle Virtualbox Homepagehttps://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/VirtualBox

The latest version is 4.3.20

Please run the following commands in your Terminal.

wget -q -O - http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/debian/oracle_vbox.asc | sudo apt-key add -

sudo sh -c 'echo "deb http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/debian utopic non-free contrib" >> /etc/apt/sources.list.d/virtualbox.org.list'

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install virtualbox-4.3

Note:

After installation you will need to visit the download page: https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads

Now you must download the VirtualBox 4.3.20 Oracle VM VirtualBox Extension Pack.

Once downloaded you can just manually install the pack.
